Categories: Program Highlights, Tahderiyyah
A study tour and focus group discussion (FGD) on the training manual of PAR-SETT Project (Participatory Action Research for the Skills Enhancement of the Tahderiyyah Trainers) was conducted on October 19-22, 2015 at UP Child Development Center in UP Diliman, Quezon City.
The activity is in line with the Tahderiyyah program of the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) supported by the United Nations’ Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
According to Julie Maliga, BDA Tahderiyyah program coordinator, the FGD was aimed at providing venue for Tahderiyyah Trainers to give feedback on the use of the Training Manual and the Observation Checklist, while the study tour aims to orient the trainers on the philosophy and the curriculum of the UP Child Development Center; and by providing them opportunity to observe actual conduct of classes in the Center.
The activity helped towards the goal of improving the program which at present is targeted for Phase 3 implementation.
Tahderiyyah program started in 2006 with components on education and child protection, and later with water, sanitation and health (WaSH).
