BDA gets support on education and human capital from Malaysian foundation

Sharing common principle on the importance of human capital investment, Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) and Al-Akhyar International Foundation, a foundation based in Malaysia signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on August 16, 2014 at Conference Room, BDA Central Management Office.

The signing was graced by various partners in development from the International Monitoring Team (IMT), Malaysian Consul, Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and Office of the Presidential Communications Operations.

In his opening remarks, Engr. Windel Diangcalan, Head of BDA Program Division shared his hope towards fruitful partnership between the two parties. He mentioned of the shared vision of BDA and Al-Akhyar which says about the importance of human capital.

Engr. Diangcalan likewise stressed the relevance of material (physical and environmental) development which accordingly is inseparable from human development.

Saifulnizar Wahid, Vice Consul of the Malaysian Consulate express optimism on the partnership of the two parties.

Mr. Be Lim of the Al-Akhyar International Foundation emphasized the importance of education towards development. Having visited Bangsamoro for the first time, he was convinced of the great potentials of the land for investment towards development of its people.

In the signed document, BDA and Al-Akhyar agreed to work together to improve the quality of Bangsamoro human resources through improvement of education and human capital.

In his closing remarks, Mohammad S. Yacob, BDA Executive Director talked about security of investment of partners. He stressed the importance of partnership with the people in whatever investment towards harmonious and successful implementation of the program.

BDA has already entered partnerships to number of organizations based in Malaysia for the past years like the Malaysian Technical Cooperative Program (MTCP) and the MERCY Malaysia.
