Tri-people community in Davao region receives community-based infra sub-projects from BDA-MTFRDP

Around 5, 884 tri-people community members from two (2) barangays in municipality of Tarragona in Davao Oriental formally received community-based sub-projects during the turn–over ceremony on September 6, 2014 at Barangay Maganda and Barangay Jovellar of the said town.

The sub-projects are under the 4th program partnership agreement implementation of the Mindanao Trust Fund-Reconstruction and Development Program (MTF-RDP) implemented by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA).

Brgy. Maganda is a recipient of one (1) unit of water system. The turn-over ceremony was witnessed by members of the community, Barangay Community Volunteers (BCVs), barangay officials and the municipal Mayor of Tarragona, Nestor Uy.

In his message, Barangay Community Volunteers (BCV) leader Silverio Cuizon expressed thanks to BDA and MTF-RDP for the support. Accordingly, the sub-project will really help their barangay because water system is indeed the priority need of the community.

The water system provided by the Program is the second sub-project constructed in the barangay. The first one was provided by other partner organization. Through the project, it is expected that more people in the community will benefit out of it and will have better access to clean and safe water.

Brgy. Jovellar is a recipient of one (1) unit of solar dryer with warehouse. The turn-over was held at the sub-project site. Members of the community coming from all sectors joined the turn-over ceremony. The Mayor of Tarragona was also present during the said activity.

The BCV Team Leader, Ian Dilag thanked BDA and the program of the support extended to them. He stressed the importance of sustainability to the project as he call for support and cooperation of everyone including the barangay local government unit of Jovellar.

In his speech, Mayor Uy expressed his continuous support to the program. He likewise conveyed gratitude to BDA and MTF-RDP.

MTFRDP is supported by various donors such as the European Union (EU), DFAT Australia (then AusAID), Canadian International Development Agency, New Zealand Aid for International Development, Sweden International Development Agency, United States Aid for International Development and the World Bank.
