BDA Iranun province conducts Muslim Blood Donation

A blood donation (MBD) activity was conducted on August 16, 2015 at Iranun Province of Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) Central Mindanao.
Said activity was held at Mariga Lupa Elementary School in Brgy. Nituan, Parang, Maguindanao.
According to Arift Ambil, executive secretary of BDA in this province, the conduct of Muslim Blood Donation (MBD) in the province is held every three months since it started in 2009.
Jehan Ariman, municipal development catalyst of Kapatagan II, the activity has been sustained through the closed supervision and strong support of the BDA-Central Mindanao (CenMin) Region.
The activity was conducted in partnership with the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) and the Department Health –Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DOH-ARMM).
Before the activity proper, Rosdith Buntag, BDA-CenMin assistant regional coordinator of MBD oriented donors the process of donating blood.
First, donor must provide required information asked in the history questionnaire; undergo private interview to validate the information provided; physical examination by getting the weight, pulse rate, blood pressure, and temperature of donors; and blood test to identify blood type and possible diseases.
Buntag also clarified to the donors the basic requirements for blood withdrawal in case of necessity.
The whole process is being supervised by health professionals supporting the program.
Buntag reported that there were 15 units of blood collected from the said activity.
For the success of the activity and other blood donation conducted in the province, Ustaz Ahmad Hassan, provincial development catalyst of Iranun Province expressed his thanks and gratitude for the continued support of the BDA-CenMin.
PDC Hassan also commended and thanked the CRMC and DOH for their continued trust and support to this activity that sustained good partnership with BDA-CenMin.
BDA-CenMin is the proponent region of MBD. The region has eleven (11) provinces where series of blood donation activities are being organized through development catalysts.
