JICA’s President pays visit to BDA

Akihiko Tanaka, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) President together with other officials pay visit Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) on August 25, 2015 at BDA Training Center, Cotabato City.

“JICA promise that we will stay together with Bangsamoro people. We understand that there are a lot of challenges whether in socio-economic as well as political but we will do our best to adjust our activities in facing those challenges”, said Tanaka during the activity.

BDA Chairman, Dr. Saffrullah Dipatuan welcomed the visitors together with Dr. Danda Juanday, former executive director of BDA.

During the meeting, Mr. Tanaka asked what is going to be the first program (activity) to use this facilities (training center) after the formal turn-over.

According to chairman Dipatuan, even before the turn-over, the center is already very helpful to BDA since there were lot of activities being conducted. BDA used this building for some meetings and trainings.

He added that BDA is thinking of accommodating some trainings and capability building activities of other NGOs who would like to hold their activities here. It will be open to other NGOs working in conflict-affected areas in Bangsamoro communities.

JICA is currently supporting BDA for the Community Development in Conflict Affected Areas in Mindanao (CD-CAAM) project.
