BDA, UP Islamic Studies sign partnerships on academic and collaborative research

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) and Institute of Islamic Studies (IIS) of the University of the Philippines on July 28, 2014 at Romulo Hall, UP Diliman Campus, Quezon City.

The MOU was signed by Mohammad S. Yacob, BDA Executive Director and Julkipli M. Wadi, Dean of UP-ISS.

The two parties agreed to establish partnership on collaborative research, joint studies and trainings that are relevant and significant to the betterment of the Bangsamoro.

In the signed document, UP-IIS agreed to accept recommendations from BDA for students’ admission to the said University Institute.

UP-IIS also agreed to exchange publications, newsletters and information materials about the institution that may be useful for BDA.

BDA has been a partner to various fellowship and scholarship programs geared towards academic competence in line with its goal to develop critical mass of trained, enabled, and productive stewards that shall effectively keep the Bangsamoro moving forward.

UP-IIS is an institution that provides services which includes relevant research on Muslim communities and Islamic heritage.
