Staff of Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) under Community Development in Conflict-Affected Areas in Mindanao (CD-CAAM) project in Tawi-Tawi Provincial Management Office (PMO) underwent Values Transformation Training (VTT) on August 4-6, 2015 at Bongao, Tawi-Tawi where the said office is located.
Accordingly, the activity aimed to promote among the staff the importance of self-development over physical and material development.
“Of course this is line with the BDA’s principle that change or development must begin first in one’s self which we anchored in one of the verses in the Holy Qur’an,”Engr. Aida Silongan, CD-CAAM program management officer said.
She added that through VTT, staff will become more responsible and be the vicegerent of righteousness in implementing the first pilot project of CD-CAAM in Tawi-Tawi.
In the training, several lectures were discussed that are designed to educate participants on leadership, values, beliefs and pillars Islam and the importance of those in development planning and implementation process.
Participants were also allowed to express commitment to practice Islamic values in development work and in dealing with the different stakeholders of the Bangsamoro community.
The said training was supervised by the BDA Central Management Office (CMO) staff co-facilitated by the ICNet, the service provider of CD-CAAM project.
Lecturers were staff from Regional Management Office (RMO) Zamboanga-Basilan.
