BDA Ranaw Region turns-over project on infrastructure
Tunover ceremony in Barangay Mamaanun, Piagapo, Lanao del Sur
The Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) through its Mindanao Trust Fund-Reconstruction and Development Program (MTF-RDP) provides assistance to communities in Ranaw Region through construction of concrete tire path in some sitios of Barangay Mamaanun in Piagapo, Lanao del Sur.
The construction of tire path was for the sitios in the said barangay where roads are hardly accessible which affects the transport of agricultural products of the community at the nearest market in their place.
Brgy. Mamaanun is part of the Piagapo municipality in Lanao del Sur Province. It is among the recipients of the project of the MTF-RDP of the BDA. Many families in the barangay is relying on agricultural farming for their daily needs.
The turn-over of the said tire path project is recently conducted on August 30, 2013. Graced by some key personalities, the activity serves as the beginning of better life to the people of Brgy. Mamaanun.
Speaking in their local dialect, one farmer said “It is more easier for us now to transport our product for selling to market”.
In his message, Aragasi S. Mohamad, Manager of BDA Ranaw Region told everyone to praise the Allah (swt) for this assistance in their barangay. He likewise mentioned of BDA as an agency that facilitates the projects coming from different donors.
Taking a verse from the Holy Qur’an which says:“If you give thanks, I will give more (of My Blessings) in Surah Ibrahim 14:7, Engr. Tohamie Ibrahim, Institutional Development Officer (IDO) of BDA-Central Management Office (CMO) gladly informed the community that due to the unity and cooperaration of each sector of the barangay, there will be more project for them.
Meanwhile, the municipal mayor Engr. Ali Sumandar likewise extends his appreciation and thanks to BDA for the assistance provided in one of his communities. According to him, they are very grateful since Piagapo is one of the most deprived communities that really needs help.
Sharing a quote that says “Mapasang si phagogop igira mapasang si phagogopan” ( Benefactor is willing when the beneficiary is extra eager, Mayor Sumandar said that his municipality welcomes all donor agencies in their community because it is for the betterment of their people. Piagapo has been very supportive in the projects being implemented in its communities with the local government unit (LGU) providing counterpart to the implementing agency. During the program, the Mayor handed over an amount which serves as share of his administration to the project in manifestation of his full support to the program.
Furthermore, the Mayor encouraged his people by saying “When the people unite, success will follow.”
The turn-over ceremony was made more significant and joyful through an intermission from Madrasah pupils in the barangay who sing and dance during the program.
Expressing their support and welcome to the assistance given to their barangay, Brgy. Chairwoman Inday P. Didato of Mamaanun and Ms. Carida P. Akis of Community and Family Services International (CFSI) were present during the ceremony.
Ranaw Region is one of the seven regional management offices of BDA in Mindanao comprising two provinces, Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte.
