Baseline study on SRH underway for Bangsamoro
After signing of contract with Institute of Bangsamoro Studies (IBS), the baseline study on Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) for Bangsamoro took off and now in progress.
This research is in line with the implementation of the program on Strengthening Capacities for RH Delivery and Advocacy in the Bangsamoro implemented by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) with support from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
According to Aliuddin Haron, program coordinator BDA has already submitted the survey tools to the country office of UNFPA on Jan. 05, 2016.
He said that BDA is just waiting for the UNFPA to gather the Philippine Population Associations so that they can discuss and review the finalized survey tool of the IBS and provide technical assistance.
“After approving of the survey tool, IBS will be conducting a pilot test particularly in Maguindanao because of the accessibility of the area. It will be followed by validations of the tool and then the training of enumerators,” he explained.
Haron also added that it is fortunate for having this need to conduct such data survey in the Bangsamoro which is longed for a long time.
“Hopefully, BDA will be the first time to conduct such activity with the help of UNFPA,” Haron ended.
The study accordingly will be conducted in the areas of Maguindanao, Cotabato City, Lanao del Sur, Marawi City, Basilan, Isabela City, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Lanao del Norte and North Cotabato.
