Basilan locals oriented anew of BDA, PLEDGE implementation process

The Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) through Program for Local Economic Development through Enlightened Governance and Grassroots Empowerment (PLEDGE) conducted Transition Enterprise Project (TEP) induction for its beneficiaries on January 4-5, 2015 at Municipality of Muhammad Ajul, Basilan province.

The PLEDGE team went at Barangay Seronggon and Brgy. Candiis of said municipality.

According to Julhaina Cadon, PLEDGE program coordinator, TEP induction aimed to validate the People’s Organizations (POs) per enterprise of said sites regarding on the PLEDGE processes and methodologies and to re-orient them for the implementation process especially with regards to the future five months transition enterprise project.

Part of the program was an open forum where the participants were given a chance to ask about the program implementation.

In the activity were staffs from BDA Central Management Office (CMO) and Community Enterprise Development Officer (CEDO) of said region.

 

PLEDGE is the economic and livelihood component of Mindanao Trust Fund Reconstruction and Development Program (MTFRDP) supported by various donors such as the European Union; the Swedish International Development Agency; the Australian Embassy in the Philippines; Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada; the United States Agency for International Development; the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the World Bank, which also serves as the Trust Fund Secretariat.

The program aims to contribute to confidence and peace building efforts through local economic development and sustainable livelihood creation in conflict affected areas in Mindanao.

International Labour Organization (ILO) is the trust fund recipient of the program.
