BDA-CenMin holds 30th Muslim Blood Donation
Two hundred eighteen (218) units of blood were collected in a recent 30th Muslim Blood Donation (MBD) conducted on August 28, 2016 at the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) Central Mindanao- Regional Management Office located at # 23 Jasmin St., RH6, Cotabato City.
This bloodletting activity is accordingly aimed to contribute in the huge and continuing necessity of blood in the region and neighbouring places.
According to Nazneen B. Biruar-Piang, MBD coordinator, bloodletting is also a big help towards good health.
She said that donating blood is good for the health of both the donors and as well as to those who need it.
“You are not only saving others life, you also free yourself in any heart and cardiovascular disease”, Piang added.
Abu Huraira Edza, one of the Blood Galooners Awardees (BGA) said that, “donating blood regularly makes me feel better and healthy”.
The success of the activity was done in collaboration with the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC) as the partner blood bank of BDA-CenMin together with the volunteers from the Department of Health (DOH) of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and Bangsamoro Emergency Action Team (BEAT).
Among the regular donors were Dr. Abdussame Piang, BDA Board of Directors (BOD) vice chairman and Ustadz Abdulrasheed Ambil, BDA-CenMin regional manager.
BDA Cenmin also recognized various partner organizations such as; Muslim Youth Brotherhood (MYB), Muslim Youth Religious Oraganization (MYRO), United Youth of the Philippines (UNYPHIL), Minsupala Islamic Youth Movement (MIYM), United Voices for Peace Network (UVPN), Umpungan nu mga Kangungudan a Apo ni Barodi (UKAB), Ittihadun Nisa Foundation (INFO), Muslim Youth Brotherhood (MYB), Tableegh Al-Reesalah Organization (TRO), United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD), Jamiat Tirmidhia’t Organization (JTO), whose representative donated blood during the said 30th MBD.
With the theme “Be a Healthy Muslim, Share Life, Donate Blood”, MBD is one of the regular activities of BDA CenMin which is conducted every quarter of the year.
It is also being conducted in the different province of the region.
In 2015, BDA Cenmin reported 1, 821 units of blood collected that served an estimated 600 number of patients.
MBD already received various recognitions and awards since 2010.
