BDA-CenMin teaches staff value of forgiveness, strengthens brotherhood through team building activity
Stressing the importance of strengthening relationship between staff and volunteers in the office was Dr. Rizaldy Piang, member of the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) board of directors (BOD) during the Ramadhan team building activity on July 1, 2015 at Cotabato City.
Staff and volunteers of the BDA- Central Mindanao region were the participants of the activity.
Conducted in the 2nd ten days of Ramadhan known as magfirah (forgiveness), the activity was aimed at refreshing and strengthening the relationship of staff and volunteers not just by means of volunteerism and length of service in the office but through brotherhood in Islam.
In these days, accordingly, Allah is forgiving the sin of the fasting Muslim except for the sin made between man and man.
Sheikh Abdulrasheed Ambil related verse in the Quran which stated: “the believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion). So make reconciliation between your brothers, and fear Allah, that you may receive mercy, (Surah Hujurat: verse 10).
BDA-CenMin believes that holding team building activity is one effective to ensure that volunteers and staff are guided along with the direction of correct implementation of any development intervention.
Through team building activities, the region while implementing development projects in partnership with international donors, also sustains the harmonious relationships and commitment of its staff and volunteers to serve the Bangsamoro.
This has resulted to strong and continuous program based operation of the region from regional to provincial, municipal and barangay levels amidst the limited amount of budget.
Peace building program has institutionalized system of memorizing Qur’an and other related trainings, seminars and symposia for all volunteers and staff.
Economic development related initiatives sustained program-based operation.
For education, the region is able to able to sustain its basic reading & writing and advanced Arabic and English grammar classes for its staff while implementing non-formal education in several communities.
Health programs such as Muslim Blood Donation (MBD) in partnership with Cotabato Regional Medical Center (CRMC), and other related activities continuously serving great number of people in the region.
The region is also able to extend assistance to in-need communities affected by natural calamities or conflict, and collect relief items through its social welfare program.
Infrastructure program is working with focus on designing infrastructure activities from regions down to barangays as long as with the recommendation of the provincial development catalysts and approved by the regional manager.
The region continues to recruit youth to undergo activities that help them become responsible and productive member of society through youth development program.
Hashim Manticayan, BDA CenMin Regional Manager, in his final message emphasized the need to sustain unity and to work as a team being in BDA family, with the pure intention of serving the Bangsamoro.
“BDA-CenMin maximizes its operation by not just implementing the projects but, of all the most important, is empowering its people through capability building and community development,”Manticayan added.
BDA’s slogan is “building people who will build the nation” towards its vision of an enlightened, self-sustaining and healthy Bangsamoro living in harmony dignity, justice, security and peace.
