BDA, ILO conduct PLEDGE sites visit anew
Hideki Kagohashi, enterprise development specialist from International Labour Organization (ILO) recently visited and conduct focused-group discussion(FGD) to the beneficiaries of the Program for Local Economic Development through Enlightened Governance and Grassroots Empowerment (PLEDGE) which implemented by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) on February 3, 2016 at Brgy. Koronadal Proper, Polomolok, South Cotabato and Feb.4-5, at Brgy. Lucatan and Brgy. Tomoaong, Davao Oriental.
The ILO is the trust fund recipient of the PLEDGE.
Accordingly, in every Peoples’ Organization (PO) per barangay was represented by its three key officers who joined the FGD. They were allotted two hours to be asked not only about the enterprise they handle but also about their personal life like for example their present job.
Julhaina Cadon, PLEDGE program coordinator said that this activity will serve as basis on how to address and determine the sustainability of the enterprise groups.
“The advantage of this is to dig up the potential of the members of the group on how they see the sustainability of their project,” Cadon said.
Cadon also quoted the impression of said specialist to the beneficiaries during the activity in which she said “it’s very inspiring because the members of peoples’ organization were very motivated in a way that they were intact with the group”.
It was reported that consultants from ILO central office and Cotabato-based, and World Bank secretariat like Soraya Ututalum, communication specialist and Mayuko Shimakage, livelihood specialist were also attended the activity to observed the process conducted and were able to determine how they could replicate it in other sites.
Staff from BDA central management office (CMO) and Community Enterprise Development Officer (CEDO) of said project sites were also joined the activity.
Same activity was also conducted at Brgy. Pisaan and Nian, both at Municiality of Dinas on February 11-12, 2016.
