BDA M&E staff undergoes training on management information
Among the vital parts of monitoring and evaluation is the information or data management. On September 22-25, 2014 program staff of Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) working on monitoring and evaluation underwent training workshop on Data Collection in M&E at Davao City.
Participants are M&E officers coming from various programs managed by BDA.
One of the significant output from the 3-dat training is the action plan on BDA M&E and Management Information System (MIS) that was formulated collectively by the participants in line with the objective of strengthening the M&E system of the agency.
The plan is expected to provide direction for the M&E Team of BDA in consolidating their common works of monitoring and evaluation.
On the first day of the training, inputs on the importance of data collection in M&E, review of result-based M&E and M&E Plans was presented and discussed to participants.
A workshop on the provision of M&E Plans and Work Plan for each program of BDA was held in the afternoon where participants were grouped according to the project managed.
During the second day, session includes tools for data collection, analysis of data and significance of most significant change (MSC) in M&E.
An introduction to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in M&E was presented in the afternoon.
The topic was discussed further on the following day. Accordingly, M&E can be done better through ICT as it provides creativity and more visuals in telling the change t that a certain project or program has impacted to its target beneficiaries.
Participants joined the group work on the development of common or standard forms for M&E such as attendance, training or activity report, accomplishment report and barangay profile.
Through the 3-day activity, discussions and sharing on the current BDA M&E system was deliberated to determine the applicability of the subjects to the objective of strengthening the system.
Review of previous trainings related to M&E and the utilization of such was also done during the training.
BDA is currently managing seven (7 different programs and monitoring and evaluation play key role in measuring the success of these programs towards the objectives set by each the program especially with the overall vision and mandate of the agency that is to determine, lead and manage relief and rehabilitation in conflict affected areas in Mindanao.
