Child protection committee in Central Mindanao undergo training on CP School Protocols in Tahderiyyah
The Child Protection Committee (CPC) of Tahderiyyah Centers within the Bangsamoro Development Agency-Central Mindanao (BDA-CenMin) Region underwent Training on Child Protection (CP) and School Protocols in Tahderiyyah Centers on September 3-4, 2016 at Estosan Garden Hotel and Restaurant, Cotabato City.
There were 168 participants who actively partake in the said activity.
It was reported that they were composed of Tahderiyyah Administrators (Mudeer), Tahderiyyah teachers, parents, Social Welfare Committee (SWC) representatives, Tarbiyyah Committee representatives, Imam or religious leader or Da’awah Committee representatives within the 28 sites of CP.
Accordingly, the two-day training aims to strengthen understanding on the role of the CPC members and individual stakeholders in the implementation of the CP Policy and enhance the capacity of Child Protection Policy and School Protocols.
The activity was facilitated by Rohannie Baraguir, Mary Jane Isik, Arman Abdullatif and Basser Mamento for the Set A section and Nor Ayn Makakena, Nadjmaliah Diamaoden, Anuar Cabalo and Rehoney Utam for the Set B.
Different topics were discussed such as children’s needs, understanding protection and child abuse, child development, roles and responsibilities for protecting children, reporting and referral and referral process and administrative and disciplinary procedure.
There were workshops and reporting where the participants shared their practices in dealing with the children in different circumstances.
Mokhalidin Alabat, one of the administrative officer expressed appreciation of the training.
“I am so glad that BDA conducted this kind of training”, Alabat said.
“We learned more about our role as member of Child Protection Committee (CPC)”, he added.
“Likewise, we became aware of the childrens needs and rights”, Alabat ended.
During the closing program, Mohammad S. Yacob, executive director motivated the participants through his very inspiring message.
The training will be also conducted to the different regions of BDA such as; Southern Mindanao (SouthMin), Davao, Zamboanga Peninsula (ZambOpen), Ranaw and Zamboanga Basilan (ZamBas).
