BDA-CenMin facilitates symposium with MBD Advocacy in CD-CAAM project sites at Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao

The said symposium aimed to promote and strengthen the unity and solidarity of the Bangsamoro community and other stakeholders amidst the current situation of the peace process between the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Government of the Philippines (GPH).

It was held on January 12, 14 and 17, 2016 at Barangays of Buliok with 92 participants, Kirkir with 120 participants and Balut with 55 participants all in the municipality of Sultan Mastura in Maguindanao.

As explained by Engr. Abdulwahid Sendad, Regional Project Coordinator, with the effective facilitation of RMO of BDA-CenMin through its staff in CD-CAAM Project Extension Phase, the activity was successfully done as good result of the strong collaboration of project beneficiaries, Local Government Units (LGU) and concerned community stakeholders including the MILF organized groups based in said barangays, such as Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF), Political Committees (PolCom), Da’wah, Tarbiyah, Social Welfare Committee (SWC) and other women groups.

Abdulnasser Akmad, Regional Community Organizer Supervisor said, the activity was not part of the project implementation but it was conducted as mere initiative of the RMO through its assertive and hardworking staff accompanied by the strong collaborative support of the aforementioned groups or organizations.

It was expected that with this activity, the project beneficiaries and the concerned community stakeholders will not only support the CD-CAAM project but they will also become more united and solidified to even strongly support and sustain the GPH-MILF peace process and its gains despite the current status of the of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL).

During the said Islamic Symposium, importance of unity and solidarity in Islam was clearly discussed as among the significant ingredients to get rid of oppression and colonialism perpetrated against any minority and marginalized group of people anywhere around the globe.

The participants were also educated about the Muslim Blood Donation (MBD) program of BDA.

Sulba Tula, Regional Health Program Coordinator discussed to them about the program which accordingly is among the activities of the BDA-CenMin under its Health Program that engages on voluntary blood donation through unconditional actual bloodletting.
