Health aid from Turkey seen for Bangsamoro

This was discussed during the Health Forum on Bangsamoro on January 9, 2016 at Bangsamoro Development Center in Cotabato City, Inc. BDCCCI) in Brgy. Datu Balabaran, Cotabato City between the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA), Bangsamoro Medical Society (BMS) and Insani Yardim Vakfi-Alliance of International Doctors (IHH-AID) from Turkey.

In the activity, BDA presented about the programs and projects being implemented that are health-related.

Hashim Manticayan, regional manager of BDA Central Mindanao discussed about the Muslim Blood Donation (MBD). Aliuddin Haron, program coordinator presented the program on Strengthening Capacities for RH Service Delivery and Advocacy in the Bangsamoro being implemented with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Bangsamoro Development Plan (BDP) health thematic area by Rhadzni Taalim.

Dr. Sherjan Kalim of BMS presented also their health programs and the health conditions/needs in the Bangsamoro.

Osman Hayran of IHH-AID in an interview said that the forum is part of their visit in the Bangsamoro which purpose is to conduct a needs assessment for the community health problems in the region.

“We see the Bangsamoro as appropriate region for our experience and knowledge and we feel culturally near”, Hayran stated.

He added that they can support Bangsamoro development in the terms of advice and sharing of experiences, information by conducting health projects.

“Our organization is devoted for such activities whenever these communities need our experience”, Hayran ended.

BDA has been in partnership with IHH and other organizations from Turkey for the past few years already for various programs such as Ramadhan, Qurban, orphanage care, and other humanitarian assistance.
