Tahderiyyah Administrators in BDA-Zambas Region undergo orientation on School Management Manual

Thirty five (35) Tahderiyyah Administrators from Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) in Zamboanga-Basilan Region attended orientation on Tahderiyyah School Management Manual on August 23-27, 2016; La Vina Hotel, Zamboanga City.

The activity aimed to enhance the capability of the Tahderiyyah Administrators on the use of the Tahderiyyah School Management Manual.

Facilitators and resource person of the said training were Gina Soriano, Early Child Care Development (ECCD) Consultant; Rohanie Baraguir, Child Protectio Officer from United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF); Farouk Lim – Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (UNICEF); Taha Daranda, member of the Tarbiyayah Technical Working Group (TWG); Julie Maliga – Tahderiyyah Program Coordinator; Engr. Abdulgaffar Sundang, Project Operations Officer (POO) for water, sanitation and health (WaSH) and; Ustadz Mokamad Alon, early child education (ECE) Program Officer.

Tawab S. Kararon, regional manager of BDA-ZamBas and and Nurkadri Hamsali, manager of BDA Provincial Management Office (PMO – Sulu) graced the activity.

Both expressed the need for efficient implementation of the manual and urged the Tahderiyyah administrators of their commitment in the program.

The Tahderiyyah program is another product of UNICEF and BDA’s collaborative efforts to reach children in the conflict-affected areas (CAAs) in Mindanao. It generally aims to facilitate easy access to quality Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) services and Basic Education to the CAAs.

The program was piloted in 2009 and now being implemented in three 335 schools across six (6) regions Central Mindanao, Southern Mindanao, Ranaw, Zamboanga Peninsula, Zamboanga and Basilan and Davao with the island province of Sulu.

The Tahderiyyah Program has three components namely, Early Childhood Development (ECD), CP and Water Sanitation and Health (WaSH).
