This is still in line with the implementation of the Bangsamoro Assistance for the Development and Community Empowerment (Bangsamoro-ADVANCE) implemented by the Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA).
The training dubbed as Basic Opportunity Planning and Livelihood Training was conducted June 2, 2016 at gymnasium in Burias, Glan Sarangani Province.
Accordingly, the activity aimed to capacitate the participants on local enterprise development through identification of potential business applicable in the community and within the allocated budget and on how to prepare business plan for sustainability.
Jamil Udda, training officer and Kathy Ulab, community organizer in BDA Southern Mindanao Region facilitated the training.
Victor Siao, Sr., chairman of said barangay expressed pleasure to BDA and hoped for more projects in their barangay.
Brgy. Burias is one of the two community recipients of the Bangsamoro ADVANCE program in Southern Mindanao Region out of the fifty numbers of sites across the other five regions and two provinces of BDA.
The program is conceptualized in support to confidence building measures of the GPH- MILF as provided in the Comprehensive Agreement on Bangsamoro (CAB). This was also in respond to the clamour from the communities especially on the implementation of basic services including livelihood opportunities.
It is implemented in partnership with the Community and Family Services International (CFSI) and Mindanao Land Foundation (MinLand) and is supported by the Mindanao Trust Fund (MTF).
MTF has various donors such as such as the European Union, the Swedish International Development Agency, the Australian Embassy Philippines, Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada, the United States Agency for International Development, the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the World Bank which also serves as the Trust Fund Secretariat.
